An illustration i did for Gatafunho, a portuguese publisher, for which i'm finnishing an illustrated book, written by Lurdes Breda.
In the book it says "Reading is fun!", which is a great message on any given time.
Made with brush and ink, colors and letters digitally added.
Take care!

I did this drawing after watching a documentary on Picasso, called "Picasso, The Full Story.
I visited his museum late september this year, when i was in Barcelona, and i was very happy to be able to see again his works. I say again because i did go to Barcelona 10 years ago. But now i saw it with "other eyes".
Here are sone closeups,
It was made on my moleskine with a waterbrush pen, with ink, and two copic markers, which i recently got to try.
Hope you enjoy it! :)
Oh i really recommend the documentary!

Double spread illustration for the issue #10 of the great Göoo Magazine.
“We seek to create a circus built by the different acts of life, based on that happy decay which make us laugh instead of crying, dazzle and frighten us with fantastic characters and situations from the everyday circus of the imaginary.”

Hello!
I've participated on Zona Gráfica volume 1, which was presented on the Beja's International Comic Book Festival.
It's a very short story, 2 page only, made with brush and ink, on a A3 paper.
I did the washes directly on the inks. :)
I made it like it was a comercial, about how good a drawing every day does to you, :P
Here are some detail shots, of the book and the drawings.
Here's the link to ZonaBd blog, zonabd.blogspot.com/
And to some photos of the book, http://zonabd.blogspot.com/2010/05/zona-grafica-volume-1.html
All the best,
André

Poster design and Illustration for the play "Arlequim, Servidor de Dois Amos", performed by the students at ESEC University, in Teatrao Theatre.
I had to follow Teatrão's Graphic style, so the illustration was the part where i had more freedom.
I made the illustration with brush and ink on paper, scanned it, and colored it digitally.
For more info on the play, but in Portuguese, go here, http://oteatrao.blogspot.com/2010/06/dois-casais-de-enamorados-lutam-pelo.html
And now some little details of the process.
To start, the Thumbnail of for the Illustration.
Now the final drawing and inked drawing.
And finally, all the elements of this project.
The thumbnail, the inked drawing, the printed poster and flyer.
Hope you enjoy my little talk about my process.
Take care,
André

I was interviewed by Eloísa for TugaMagazine and she challenged me to draw a portrait of God.
I have to say it was a hard one, because i only had a few hours, but i had a lot of fun with it.
I used watercolors, no sketching at all, because the medium allowed me to discover shapes without controlling too much. After a few washes, i painted gouache over the watercolors and finally scanned it and added a few color corrections and that was it.
Thank you Eloísa! You can read the interview she made, but only in portuguese, here, http://tugamagazine.deviantart.com/blog/33445552/
Here are some photos of my table where i was working.
On the left side of the photo you can see the plate where i mixed my watercolors, and on the right side, my palete for gouaches. I've used Winsor and Newton watercolors, Carand d'ache gouaches, painted with Winsor & Newton Cotman series, and the brush on top of the sketchbook is a sable hair brush, but it doesn't have a brand.
Finally, the paper is a Canson watercolor Sketchbook, 300gr.
And now a close ups on the painting.
Now i want to paint more Gods!
I hope you enjoy it and i'll waiting your opinions and critiques!

On May 27th, i went to A Naifa's concert, in Oficina Municipal do Teatro, Coimbra.
Link to their blog
The show was amazing, and by the third song i was drawing it.
Even with very few light to see what i was doing, i went for it, and tried to capture what i was seeing. And it was great!
Even more lucky i felt when i shared the drawings with the band members! Who liked a lot and said that it was the first time they have seen drawings of them playing.
It was a very cool night, and you can see the drawings clicking on the images above, that links to the set in Flickr.
For the tech details, i drew with a Pentel waterbrush, filled with Winsor&Newton black ink on a Moleskine Plain Soft Notebook - Large sketchbook.
